Forbes Vetted's panel testers scored 11 umbrellas in their own outdoor spaces over two weeks. This one was named best rectangular patio umbrella with a Forbes Vetted rating of 4.8 out of 5, the highest of the nine winners.
Forbes says it stands out for generous coverage and durable construction, and lists heavy-duty construction among its pros.
Coverage over a dining table
The case Forbes makes is about shape. It says the 8-by-10-foot canopy is particularly well suited to outdoor dining tables, giving more consistent shade across the whole seating area than many round umbrellas, and that in testing it delivered broad, even coverage.
Setup and adjustment
Forbes lists it as incredibly easy to set up right out of the box. Its tester appreciated the illustrated instructions, which made setup straightforward and relatively quick. A crank lift and auto-tilt handle adjustment through the day as the sun shifts.
Looks and color choice
Forbes's tester chose the Natural canopy and was especially impressed by it, describing a soft off-white that feels more elevated than standard beige or cream umbrellas and that looked considerably more expensive in person than its price tag would suggest.
