59% to 83% humidity in two hours
Live Science ran the Dreo 713S on its highest cool-mist output in a closed, medium-sized room and logged relative humidity rising from 59% to 72% after one hour and 83% after two. Repeating the test on warm mist gave similar humidity results with a much higher spike in electricity use.
Bob Vila included the HM713S in its roundup of humidifiers for large rooms as the best smart pick. On the lowest setting it raised the room's humidity by 4 percent in an hour and 10 percent in 8 hours, and on high by more than 30 percent after 8 hours. Bob Vila lists its coverage as up to 550 square feet.
Auto mode, app control and a 60-hour tank
Both outlets highlight the feature set: warm and cool mist at three output levels, a built-in humidistat with a target between 30% and 90%, an aroma tray, and an app with schedules, cleaning reminders and voice assistant support. Live Science reported that auto mode held the target and switched the unit off once it was reached.
The 6-liter tank fills from the top and has a built-in handle. Dreo claims 60 hours on low without a refill, and Bob Vila says its testing verified that figure.
Near-silent, with a humidistat that reads low
Live Science called the unit near-silent, never getting a reading above 14 decibels with a phone decibel-counting app.
The same test found that the built-in humidistat underestimated relative humidity by roughly 2 to 4% against Live Science's reference meter, which the reviewer called significant for anyone who needs precise control.
Awkward shape and fiddly cleaning
The 713S is about 14 inches tall and 12 inches deep but only 6 inches wide. Live Science notes that the manual rules out placing it on the floor or carpet and requires the nozzle to sit at least 12 inches from a wall, so it may not fit a narrow shelf or small bedside table.
Live Science found the tank quick to clean but the mist tube and noise silencer more involved, a drawback given the recommended weekly cleaning. It also described the mostly plastic body as somewhat feeble, while noting no problems during its week of testing.
