The Cosori Rice Cooker is a 5-quart fuzzy-logic cooker with separate programs for white rice, brown rice and grains, plus steam, slow-cook and saute modes and a 24-hour delay timer and keep-warm. TechRadar and Homes & Gardens each rated it 4 out of 5 and Trusted Reviews 4.5. Homes & Gardens called the rice restaurant-grade but 'painfully slow': 45 minutes for one cup of white rice. TechRadar's brown rice preset was set for 75 minutes, and none of the rice timings or cooking temperatures can be adjusted.

Good rice, slowly
Homes & Gardens cooked white long-grain, brown and jasmine rice in the Cosori and found the white rice fluffy and light and the brown and jasmine as good as anything from a restaurant. The catch was time. One cup of white rice counted down from 45 minutes, the manual lists up to 65 minutes for larger batches, and the Quick Rice setting still took 35 minutes for two cups that came out slightly chewy.
TechRadar's reviewer selected the long-grain brown rice preset for two cups and was shown 75 minutes; the rice was cooked through at 60, slightly sticky but with no clumping or drying out. Both reviewers note that rice and grain preset times cannot be adjusted, which Cosori attributes to the cooker's fuzzy-logic sensors setting the cycle.
More than a rice cooker, without temperature control
All three reviews treat it as a small multi-cooker. TechRadar steamed broccoli, sauteed, slow-cooked a beef chili and baked a cake, and scored performance 4/5 and value 5/5. Trusted Reviews, testing the same cooker in its UK 5-litre form, steamed vegetables and eggs, made risotto on the white-rice setting and slow-cooked a beef stew for five hours, and reported strong results across functions.
The limits are consistent across the reviews. No mode lets you set a temperature. Homes & Gardens found saute ran hot enough to nearly burn garlic, and its chocolate cake was a failure. TechRadar saw steam pouring from the vent in slow-cook mode and stopped an eight-hour chili at 5.5 hours because it had thickened enough. There is no pressure-cooking function.
Preheat delays and daily use
Preheating adds to the wait. TechRadar's steam program spent 9.5 minutes preheating before a five-minute timer began, and Trusted Reviews names the slow preheat as its one con. Homes & Gardens measured a five-minute preheat for steaming even when starting with boiling water.
The touch panel earns praise from all three for being easy to follow. TechRadar says the inner lid detaches and all the accessories can go in the dishwasher. Homes & Gardens found the cooker very quiet, disliked that keep-warm must be turned off manually, and could not use it under wall cabinets because the lid flips straight up.
Strengths
- +Steam, slow-cook, saute, soup and other modes beyond rice, per TechRadar
- +Inner pot, inner lid and accessories are dishwasher-safe, per TechRadar
- +24-hour delay timer and keep-warm
- +Rice that Homes & Gardens found fluffy and light, with brown and jasmine rice as good as restaurant rice
Watch-outs
- −Slow: 45 minutes for one cup of white rice in Homes & Gardens' test, and a 75-minute brown rice preset in TechRadar's
- −Rice preset times cannot be changed and no mode has adjustable temperature, per TechRadar and Homes & Gardens
- −Tall, with a flip-up lid that did not fit under Homes & Gardens' wall cabinets
How it compares
The only cooker on this page with fuzzy-logic rice programs and slow-cook and saute modes. It has a 24-hour delay timer where the Aroma ARC-914SBD's runs 15 hours and the Zojirushi NHS-06 has none, and its 5-quart pot is larger than the Zojirushi's 3-cup capacity. It costs more than the Aroma, the Hamilton Beach 37518 and the Zojirushi.
