Ranked #5 in Best Carpet Cleaners

Bissell ProHeat 2x Revolution Pet Pro Plus 3588F

3.8

3 sources2 derived$209.99as of Sep 25

The Bissell ProHeat 2X Revolution Pet Pro Plus Carpet Cleaner earns high praise for professional-grade cleaning, especially on pet stains and odors. Bob Vila's review highlighted how it handled everything from dirt to chocolate to pet accidents, and reviewers noted the powerful suction and specialized tools. Heatwave Technology keeps water temperature up, and a CleanShot pretreater targets individual stains. Users find it front-heavy and bulky, which makes it awkward to carry and store. Pet owners who want deep cleaning are the fit; anyone short on storage space is not.

Strengths

— Delivers professional-grade cleaning results with powerful suction and deep cleaning capabilities
— Effective at removing tough pet stains and odors including cat urine and skunk scent
— Intuitive design enables quick setup and immediate use after assembly

Watch-outs

— Front-heavy design makes carrying awkward during use
— Large machine takes up considerable storage space

Higher ratedRanked #2 in Best Carpet Cleaners

Hoover PowerDash Pet+ Compact FH50704

4.5

2 sources1 derived$119.99as of Sep 25

The Hoover PowerDash Pet+ Compact FH50704 is a small, cheap carpet cleaner that does one job well and several jobs not at all. Suction at the nozzle is good for the money and the tanks are larger than the price suggests, so it covers more ground per fill than most machines near it. Against that: a 7.5-inch cleaning path, weak results in upright stain testing, and no hose or attachments for stairs and furniture. Buyers who want a light, low-maintenance machine for routine carpet upkeep are the fit; anyone who needs to lift set-in stains, or to clean anything that is not a floor, is not.

Strengths

— Very good suction at the nozzle for the price
— Able to cover a larger area than similarly priced models before you need to refill its clean tank or empty its dirty water tank
— Easier to clean and maintain than most similarly priced models

Watch-outs

— Has a very narrow cleaning path
— Didn't perform well in upright stain test

How they stack up

Bissell ProHeat 2x Revolution Pet Pro Plus 3588F

Unlike the Bissell Big Green Pet Pro 3288, which is heavier and more robust, the ProHeat 2x Revolution Pet Pro Plus 3588F offers a more intuitive design and specialized pet tools like the 2-in-1 pet upholstery tool, making it better suited for quick, targeted cleaning. However, it's front-heavy and bulky compared to lighter alternatives like the Bissell TurboClean Pet XL 3746.
