Ranked #5 in Best Robotic Pool Cleaners
Aiper Scuba X1 Pro Max
2 sources$1,700as of Oct 20

The Aiper Scuba X1 Pro Max is a high-end cordless robotic pool cleaner with 40 sensors and proprietary navigation technology. The Pool Nerd and Reviewed both found the mapping and cleaning thoroughness excellent and the Bluetooth connectivity troubled, especially as battery levels drop. Reviewed's Anna Lane reports it cleaned her steps and baja shelf, and she praises the companion app for ease of use. Keeping a connection can mean adding a $500 HydroComm Pro device, which raises the cost. Buyers who want premium cleaning performance despite connectivity issues are the fit; anyone who prioritizes reliability may want alternatives.

Strengths
  • — Precisely maps pool for thorough cleaning of bottom, sides, walls, and waterline
  • — App is described as fantastic, super user-friendly, and easy to navigate
  • — Caddy included makes transporting the 25-pound unit easier
Watch-outs
  • — Connectivity issues when battery drops below 25%
  • — Sporadically stops cleaning during operation

The Beatbot Sora 70 cleans the floor, walls, waterline and water surface in one cordless robot, then floats to the pool edge to be collected. Bob Vila rated it 4.5 out of 5 after a month in a Florida pool and PCMag rated it 4.0 (Excellent) after half a summer of testing. PCMag saw some missed spots, and Bob Vila notes it does not skim continuously like a dedicated solar skimmer.

Strengths
  • — Cleans the surface, walls, waterline and floor in one cycle, per Bob Vila and PCMag
  • — Parks itself at the pool edge when finished, so it does not have to be fished out of the deep end
  • — Large, easy-to-empty debris basket with fine mesh filters, per Bob Vila
Watch-outs
  • — PCMag saw some missed spots in testing
  • — App navigation only works when the robot is out of the water, per PCMag
  • — It does not skim continuously, so it does not replace a 24/7 solar skimmer, per Bob Vila

How they stack up

Aiper Scuba X1 Pro Max

The Aiper Scuba X1 Pro Max covers up to 3,230 square feet and runs 5 hours on floor cleaning, against 2,160 sq ft and 3 hours for the Dreame Z1 Pro Robotic Pool Cleaner. It costs more than the Dreame and less than the Beatbot AquaSense 2 Ultra Robotic Pool Cleaner. Its connection becomes unreliable when the battery drops below 25%, and it sporadically stops cleaning.

Beatbot Sora 70 Robotic Pool Cleaner

Unlike the Dreame Z1 Pro, the Sora 70 skims the water surface; PCMag found the Dreame has stronger suction and can be steered underwater, which the Sora 70 cannot. At $1,199 it costs less than the Beatbot AquaSense 2 Ultra ($2,299) and Aiper Scuba X1 Pro Max ($1,700) listed on this page.
