An aluminium arc, not an adjustable rig
The Curve is a single piece of curved aluminium that holds a laptop off the desk at a raised angle. There is no mechanism to fail and nothing to tighten, which is part of the appeal — the stand has one job and does it the moment you set the machine on it. At 1.2 lb it is heavy enough to stay put and light enough to move between desks. The open space underneath is the practical benefit beyond posture: air reaches the underside of the chassis, and a keyboard slides beneath the raised laptop instead of competing with it for desk space.
Raising the screen is the ergonomic argument
Working directly on a laptop puts the display well below eye level, and the neck absorbs the difference over the course of a day. Lifting the screen is the fix, and it is why an external keyboard and pointing device are effectively mandatory once the laptop is on a stand — the built-in keyboard is now at the wrong height. Serious Insights and Podfeet both scored the Curve highly on that basis. Anyone expecting the stand to solve wrist strain on its own will be disappointed; it moves the screen, and the rest of the desk has to move with it.
Fit is restricted to 13- and 15-inch MacBooks
The Curve is sized for 13-inch and 15-inch MacBooks, and that is the real limit on who should buy it. Larger machines and thicker gaming laptops are outside what the arc is shaped to hold. Cases and rubberised sleeves are a second, smaller problem: the stand cradles a bare chassis, and anything bulky wrapped around the laptop changes how it sits. Check the machine against the compatibility list before ordering rather than after.
Priced as a design object as much as a tool
At around sixty dollars the Curve costs several times what a folding aluminium stand does, and it is honest to say a good deal of that is the look and the finish rather than added function. What it buys is a stand with no hinges, no adjustment creep and a shape that suits a Mac desk. If the machine lives on one desk and appearance matters, that is a reasonable trade. If the stand needs to fold flat for a bag, or hold something other than a MacBook, this is the wrong one.
