Sunny Health & Fitness's SF-E3912 is a basic rear-drive magnetic elliptical with 16 resistance levels, 24 built-in programs and a 330-pound capacity. Garage Gym Reviews rated it 4.1 of 5 as a beginner-friendly budget machine that stays smooth and does not shake, and BarBend named it the best rear-drive elliptical overall, scoring its durability 5 of 5. Both flag the short 15.5-inch stride for taller users, and Garage Gym Reviews calls the warranty below industry standard.

Two tested verdicts
Garage Gym Reviews' Coop Mitchell reviewed the SF-E3912 as a no-frills, beginner-friendly elliptical and gave it an editor's rating of 4.1 out of 5, with a 5 for durability and 4.5 for value. BarBend's tester Kate Meier used it over multiple workout sessions, named it the best rear-drive elliptical overall and called her verdict clear: it is outstanding.
Smooth and stable
Garage Gym Reviews was impressed with the smoothness at every setting, with no shaking or loud squeaking, and suggests it for anyone who needs a quiet full-body workout without waking others. It contrasts that with budget ellipticals that feel shaky. BarBend's tester likewise found the motion smooth forwards, backwards and through resistance changes, with no shaking, and scored durability 5 of 5.
Programs and controls
There are 24 pre-programmed workouts and 16 resistance levels. Garage Gym Reviews plugged it in, pressed Start, picked a program with the Mode button and was working out, with no user profiles to set up. The basic LCD shows speed, RPM, time, distance, calories, watts and heart rate from pulse sensors on the fixed handlebars. BarBend notes there is no Bluetooth, touchscreen or incline.
Fit, assembly and warranty
The 15.5-inch stride is the main drawback for both outlets: Garage Gym Reviews notes a typical elliptical runs 18 to 20 inches and does not think this suits taller people. The pedals are oversized but unpadded. Assembly instructions combine steps and use complex diagrams; BarBend's tester took about an hour and a half alone and found a Phillips screwdriver easier than the supplied tools. Garage Gym Reviews calls the warranty, 3 years on the frame and 180 days on other parts, below the industry standard.

How it compares
Its 15.5-inch stride is shorter than the Horizon EX-59 (18 in), the ProForm Carbon EL (19 in, adjustable) and the Sole E25 (20 in). Like the EX-59 it has no incline. Its 330-pound capacity is above the ProForm (275 lb), the Horizon (300 lb), and below the Sole E25 (350 lb). It has 24 built-in programs and no interactive classes, where the ProForm uses iFIT.
Rating sources
Counts as 4.13/5 in our score — this publisher's 50 scores on the site average 4.14, so its scores are adjusted up to compare fairly with other publishers.
“thoroughly tested this elliptical during multiple workout sessions and delivered a clear verdict: it’s outstanding.”
Not in the average — we derived this score from the review's words, and a publisher printed a score for this product, so the printed number counts instead.
Our 4.1 score is the average of 1 of the scored reviews above, each adjusted for how strictly its publisher scores. 1 derived score above is not in the average because a publisher printed a score for this product. Ratings marked * were derived from the reviewer’s written analysis or video transcript — the publisher didn’t print an explicit numeric score, so we inferred one from their own words.
