The Ronbus Quanta R3 is the elongated shape in Ronbus's $119.99 all-foam Quanta line. Pickleball Studio rates the Quanta line a top-tier power paddle for the money but found it stiff and unforgiving until weighted with lead tape, and advises skipping it if you will not add weight.

Foam-core power at a budget price
Pickleball Studio's Chris Olson, reviewing the Quanta across its R1 to R4 shapes, calls it "probably one of the best power paddles you can buy right now" at a far more reasonable price than most rivals.
The two reviewers disagree about stock performance
Olson found the stock paddles "only okay": stiff, with a small sweet spot, twisting on off-center hits. After adding 15 grams of lead tape at the 3 and 9 o'clock positions, he writes, the sweet spot opened up, the twisting went away and the paddle hit much harder. His advice is blunt: "If you don't plan to add weight, I'd skip the Quanta," and he suggests budgeting an extra $10 to $30 for tape.
Light and quick, with a low twist weight
Pickleball Studio measured the R3 at 7.7 oz with a swing weight of 111, a twist weight of 5.52 and 2,073 RPM of spin.
Construction and wear
Olson describes the core as EPP foam surrounded by an EVA foam ring with TPE inserts in the lower corners, and notes the switch to hard handle pallets from the softer foam ones on Ronbus's earlier Ripple.
Strengths
- +Very light for an elongated paddle (7.7 oz, swing weight 111 as measured by Pickleball Studio)
- +With 15 g of added weight it becomes "a legit top-end power paddle," per Pickleball Studio
- +Priced at about a third of a Selkirk Boomstik, per Pickleball Studio
Watch-outs
- −Small, unforgiving sweet spot out of the box, per Pickleball Studio
- −Needs roughly $10-$30 of added weight to perform at its best, per Pickleball Studio
How it compares
Like the GRUVN LAZR 16X Full Foam Power it is an elongated 16 mm foam-core paddle, at $119.99 against the GRUVN's $139. The Vatic Pro Saga Flash on this page is a hybrid-shaped polymer-core paddle at $99.99.
