Fast cuts, and a boost mode for stubborn ones
TechGearLab timed cuts through a stack of four Douglas Fir 4x4s and the Power Axe 350i averaged 7.07 seconds in its standard mode. With boost mode on, its quickest cut dropped to 5 seconds, and the saw wound up to full speed in 0.25 seconds. Top Ten Reviews worked from pre-cut logs up to an old tree with limbs over a foot wide; it found the saw powered through without issue even in regular mode and sliced faster with boost on. TechGearLab's team also rated it one of the most well-balanced and comfortable saws it has tested.
Long runtime, slow charge
In TechGearLab's runtime test the 350i ran for 51 minutes at full speed, one of the longest results in its review, though boost mode shortens that the more you use it. The weak point was charging: GearLab measured two hours and forty-five minutes to refill a drained battery. Top Ten Reviews had a better experience, with the battery still over half full after two 30-minute sessions and a charge time of about an hour. The two reviews disagree on charge time.
Easy to run, but heavy
TechGearLab counts the tool-free chain tensioner among its favorites and could refill the oil tank wearing leather gloves, with a see-through section for checking the level. Top Ten Reviews found that window too opaque to read the oil level readily. It also noted the safety setup: you press a power button and pull two triggers to start the chain, and a chain brake engages on kickback. TechGearLab measured 82.1 decibels, quieter than most saws it has tested. The trade-offs are weight and cost: Top Ten Reviews found it the heaviest of three saws it tested and said it is not cheap, and the box did not include chain oil.
