SanDisk Extreme PRO 1TB SDXC UHS-I

4.0

Compatibility and price are what the SanDisk Extreme PRO 1TB SDXC UHS-I wins on. It runs at full speed in any standard SD slot, reliably hits its 200MB/s read and 140MB/s write spec, and carries U3/V30 ratings for 4K UHD video, all at the lowest price here. The UHS-I bus is the trade-off, capping it well below the UHS-II cards for speed.

Strengths

— Reliable real-world performance that matches its 200MB/s read and 140MB/s write spec
— U3 and V30 ratings cover 4K UHD video recording
— Includes RescuePRO Deluxe data-recovery software and a write-protect switch

Watch-outs

— Not the right choice for cameras that support faster UHS-II cards

Ranked #5 in Best 1TB SD Cards

SanDisk Extreme PRO 1TB SDXC UHS-II V60

Unrated2 sources$549.99as of Oct 8

SanDisk's trusted reliability carries into the high-speed UHS-II bracket with the Extreme PRO 1TB SDXC UHS-II V60, rated for reads up to 280MB/s and classed V60 for 4K/60p video. The card is shockproof, waterproof and X-ray-proof, and data-recovery software is included. Two caveats: real-world speeds run below the quoted maximums, and it is a V60 rather than V90 card.

Strengths

— Fast UHS-II performance with rated read speeds up to 280MB/s
— Trusted SanDisk reliability with shockproof, temperature-proof, waterproof and X-ray-proof build
— Includes a RescuePRO Deluxe data-recovery software subscription

Watch-outs

— Real-world speeds in independent tests fell short of SanDisk's quoted maximums
— Requires a UHS-II reader and camera slot to reach full speed

How they stack up

SanDisk Extreme PRO 1TB SDXC UHS-I

The only UHS-I card in this group, far slower than the UHS-II Lexar Armor Gold, Lexar Professional Silver Pro, SanDisk Extreme PRO UHS-II and ProGrade Digital Iridium, but the cheapest and most universally compatible. Best suited to cameras and devices that do not support UHS-II.

SanDisk Extreme PRO 1TB SDXC UHS-II V60

A V60 UHS-II card like the Lexar Armor Gold and Lexar Professional Silver Pro, trailing the V90 ProGrade Digital Iridium on guaranteed sustained write. Much faster than the UHS-I SanDisk Extreme PRO in the same family, but less physically rugged than the stainless-steel Lexar Armor Gold.
