ProGrade Digital SDXC UHS-II V90 Iridium 1TB

4.2

2 sourcesall derived$1,049.99as of Oct 25

For serious video shooters, the ProGrade Digital SDXC UHS-II V90 Iridium 1TB is the top all-round 1TB SD card. A true V90 rating guarantees the sustained writes that high-bitrate 4K, 6K and 8K demand, and the rated 300/250MB/s speeds come with pro-grade reliability and error correction. Expect to pay a premium, and expect measured write speed to land slightly under the headline number.

Strengths

— True V90 rating guarantees a 90MB/s minimum sustained write for 4K, 6K and 8K video
— Built-in error correction adds reliability that most flagship rivals omit
— Shockproof, X-ray-proof and rated from -13 to 185F with a write-protect switch

Watch-outs

— Measured write speed lands below the rated maximum, behind the very fastest Sony G cards

Ranked #5 in Best 1TB SD Cards

SanDisk Extreme PRO 1TB SDXC UHS-II V60

Unrated2 sources$549.99as of Oct 8

SanDisk's trusted reliability carries into the high-speed UHS-II bracket with the Extreme PRO 1TB SDXC UHS-II V60, rated for reads up to 280MB/s and classed V60 for 4K/60p video. The card is shockproof, waterproof and X-ray-proof, and data-recovery software is included. Two caveats: real-world speeds run below the quoted maximums, and it is a V60 rather than V90 card.

Strengths

— Fast UHS-II performance with rated read speeds up to 280MB/s
— Trusted SanDisk reliability with shockproof, temperature-proof, waterproof and X-ray-proof build
— Includes a RescuePRO Deluxe data-recovery software subscription

Watch-outs

— Real-world speeds in independent tests fell short of SanDisk's quoted maximums
— Requires a UHS-II reader and camera slot to reach full speed

How they stack up

ProGrade Digital SDXC UHS-II V90 Iridium 1TB

The only true V90 card in this group, guaranteeing higher sustained writes than the V60-rated Lexar Armor Gold, Lexar Professional Silver Pro and SanDisk Extreme PRO UHS-II V60. Far faster than the UHS-I SanDisk Extreme PRO, which tops out around 140MB/s write.

SanDisk Extreme PRO 1TB SDXC UHS-II V60

A V60 UHS-II card like the Lexar Armor Gold and Lexar Professional Silver Pro, trailing the V90 ProGrade Digital Iridium on guaranteed sustained write. Much faster than the UHS-I SanDisk Extreme PRO in the same family, but less physically rugged than the stainless-steel Lexar Armor Gold.
