Good Housekeeping named it their best round option and praised how the multi-coloured braid conceals dirt; The Spruce named it best braided and rated it for abrasion resistance; Bob Vila made it their best pick for covered porches specifically because of what happened when they left it in the rain. It absorbed the storm, took three days to dry, and the concrete underneath had gone mildewy a week later. Put it under a roof and it is a durable, good-looking, easy-to-vacuum braid at 0.3 inches thick. Put it in the open and it will hold water.

The Sloane is the rug for a three-season porch rather than an open patio, and The Spruce is explicit about why. Hand-loomed from PET recycled from water bottles, it is nearly as soft as the Pottery Barn Kian but much thinner, and their testers concluded it belongs somewhere semi-protected. Over six months on a screened porch it took wind-blown rain and tracked-in grit without the edges curling or wrinkling. The weaknesses are the flip side of the softness: it stretches and bunches when furniture is dragged over it, it absorbs water, and debris settles into the pile if you let it. Quince sells it in six neutral colourways and five sizes.
