Guava Roam Stroller
1 source$650as of Oct 17

A three-wheel crossover jogging stroller weighing 28.5 lb, with foam-filled rubber tyres, a 60 lb child limit and a nesting fold to 29 x 15 x 17 inches. BabyGearLab names it the best overall jogging stroller and scores it 88/100, and iRunFar also makes it its top pick, both citing the unusually compact fold and easy handling. Runner's World picks it as the stroller for families who want to buy only one, praising the front-wheel lock on the handlebar. It suits runners who also need an everyday stroller that fits a small car boot; those running steep routes or wanting a handbrake should look elsewhere.

Strengths
  • — Smallest fold BabyGearLab has measured on a jogger: 7,488 cubic inches
  • — Front wheel locks and unlocks from the handlebar, so no bending down to switch to running
  • — Top run-ability score in BabyGearLab's test, with an easy, low-fatigue push
Watch-outs
  • — No handbrake, a drawback on hilly routes
  • — Heavy at 28.5 lb, with a shallow undercarriage basket
  • — 60 lb child limit and a smaller canopy than the BOB Revolution Flex 3.0
Thule Urban Glide 3

Thule Urban Glide 3
3 sourcesall derived$800as of Oct 17

An all-terrain three-wheel stroller weighing about 26 lb, with 16-inch air-filled tyres, a twist handbrake, adjustable tracking and a locking swivel front wheel. Runner's World names it the best jogging stroller overall, and Believe in the Run found it exceptionally smooth on pavement. BabyGearLab scored it highest of all for run-ability but declines to recommend it for running because Thule's EU-driven safety sheet says it is not suitable for running; Thule told BabyGearLab the warning does not apply in the US or Canada. It suits runners who want a handbrake and a fast, smooth push; those short on boot space or wanting a compact everyday stroller should look elsewhere.

Strengths
  • — Top-scoring runner in BabyGearLab's run-ability tests, rolling 44 ft unassisted
  • — Twist-style deceleration handbrake that gives a gentler, more controlled stop
  • — 16-inch air-filled tyres and suspension make for a very smooth ride on pavement
Watch-outs
  • — Thule's safety sheet says "not suitable for running", so BabyGearLab will not recommend it for running
  • — Long (48.4 in) and bulky, taking a big share of a small car boot
  • — Manual is mostly drawings, which made assembly harder for BabyGearLab

How they stack up

Guava Roam Stroller

At 28.5 lb it is lighter than the BOB Gear Alterrain Pro, which BabyGearLab weighed at 31.4 lb and which folds to 17,357 cubic inches against the Roam's 7,488. Like the BOB Gear Wayfinder it pairs a locking swivel front wheel with suspension, but the Roam uses foam-filled tyres rather than air-filled ones and has no handbrake. It costs several times more than the Baby Trend Journey and the Jeep Classic, which the page lists for active parents and casual joggers.

Thule Urban Glide 3

At about 26 lb it is lighter than the BOB Gear Alterrain Pro (31.4 lb in BabyGearLab's weighing) and folds to 14,960 cubic inches against the Alterrain Pro's 17,357. Like both BOB Gear models on the page it has a hand brake and a locking swivel front wheel, but its price of around $800 is several times that of the Baby Trend Journey and the Jeep Classic.
