The BOB Gear Revolution Flex 3.0 is a single-seat, three-wheel jogging stroller with air-filled tyres, a lockable swivel front wheel, adjustable rear suspension and a 75 lb capacity. BabyGearLab scored it 77/100 and named it its best jogger for long-term use, praising its run-ability, manoeuvrability and build quality, while Mommyhood101 ranked it first in its jogging-stroller guide. Mom Goes Camping, whose owner has used one for six years, found it handled muddy trails, snow and rocky paths well. It suits runners who want one durable stroller for roads, trails and errands; those who run steep hills, need a one-handed fold or have a small car should look elsewhere.

Strengths
  • — Adjustable suspension, tracking and handlebar made BabyGearLab's long runs less tiring
  • — Air-filled tyres and suspension glide over roots and rocks, per Mom Goes Camping
  • — 75 lb capacity gives it a long usable life; BabyGearLab's pick for long-term use
Watch-outs
  • — No hand brake, a drawback on steep hills and at higher speeds
  • — Two-handed, three-step fold, and it does not stand on its own when folded
  • — Bulky and awkward to lift into a car; Mommyhood101 says a large car or SUV is needed
Thule Urban Glide 3
Ranked #3 in Best Jogging Strollers
Thule Urban Glide 3
3 sourcesall derived$800as of Oct 17

An all-terrain three-wheel stroller weighing about 26 lb, with 16-inch air-filled tyres, a twist handbrake, adjustable tracking and a locking swivel front wheel. Runner's World names it the best jogging stroller overall, and Believe in the Run found it exceptionally smooth on pavement. BabyGearLab scored it highest of all for run-ability but declines to recommend it for running because Thule's EU-driven safety sheet says it is not suitable for running; Thule told BabyGearLab the warning does not apply in the US or Canada. It suits runners who want a handbrake and a fast, smooth push; those short on boot space or wanting a compact everyday stroller should look elsewhere.

Strengths
  • — Top-scoring runner in BabyGearLab's run-ability tests, rolling 44 ft unassisted
  • — Twist-style deceleration handbrake that gives a gentler, more controlled stop
  • — 16-inch air-filled tyres and suspension make for a very smooth ride on pavement
Watch-outs
  • — Thule's safety sheet says "not suitable for running", so BabyGearLab will not recommend it for running
  • — Long (48.4 in) and bulky, taking a big share of a small car boot
  • — Manual is mostly drawings, which made assembly harder for BabyGearLab

How they stack up

BOB Gear Revolution Flex 3.0 Jogging Stroller

Unlike the Thule Urban Glide 3 and the BOB Gear Alterrain Pro, the Revolution Flex 3.0 has no hand brake, but Mom Goes Camping lists it at 28.5 lb against 32.3 lb for the Alterrain Pro. Compared with the Guava Roam Stroller, BabyGearLab notes the BOB's 75 lb capacity outlasts the Guava's 60 lb limit, though the Guava folds one-handed.

Thule Urban Glide 3

At about 26 lb it is lighter than the BOB Gear Alterrain Pro (31.4 lb in BabyGearLab's weighing) and folds to 14,960 cubic inches against the Alterrain Pro's 17,357. Like both BOB Gear models on the page it has a hand brake and a locking swivel front wheel, but its price of around $800 is several times that of the Baby Trend Journey and the Jeep Classic.
