Higher ratedRanked #2 in Best Cooling Mattress Toppers

Bear Pro Topper

4.4

1 source$245as of Oct 10

The Bear Pro Topper backs up the cooling marketing in independent testing, which is why it leads on that front: Sleep Foundation measured the lowest temperature rise of any topper they tested, just 6.1 degrees against a 12.5-degree group average. Its cool-to-the-touch circular-knit cover does the heavy lifting, and 3 inches of open-cell memory foam add genuine pressure relief. The 30-night trial is shorter than rivals'. On raw cooling performance, it leads the category.

Strengths

— Premium circular-knit cover is cool-to-the-touch and stays cool through the night, with no hot spots reported by a self-described hot sleeper
— Zip-off, machine-washable cover for a cleaner, more hygienic sleep surface
— CertiPUR-US certified foams, made in the USA, and backed by a limited lifetime warranty

Watch-outs

— The foam core itself is not ventilated, so the cooling relies primarily on the cover
— Only a 30-night trial window, shorter than the 180 nights Saatva offers

Ranked #3 in Best Cooling Mattress Toppers

Saatva Graphite Memory Foam Topper

4.3

2 sources$305as of Oct 11

The Saatva Graphite Memory Foam Topper is the value-and-trust pick: graphite-infused foam that measurably offsets heat, an 8.6 out of 10 from Sleep Foundation, and an unrivaled 180-night trial. At a flat $295 it cools well, relieves pressure, and supports the lower back, even if it is not the single coolest topper on the market. That long risk-free trial makes it the easiest topper here to buy with confidence.

Strengths

— Graphite-infused memory foam offsets heat retention, earning an 8.6/10 from Sleep Foundation and a 4.5/5 temperature-regulation score from Tom's Guide
— Medium feel delivers strong pressure relief and lower-back support for back sleepers
— Flat queen price of $295, well below the premium Helix GlacioTex Premium Topper

Watch-outs

— Cooling is good but not best-in-class; one rival reviewer called it strong, not the very best on the market
— Cover is not removable for washing, as Tom's Guide notes
