Wirecutter's top cornhole board pick, which it calls the AllCornhole Tournament Series and whose buying links lead to these ACL Comp 2x4 boards. Wirecutter found the birch boards barely budged when bags hit them and that the smooth finish let bags slide without catching. Its two complaints are weight and price: each board weighs more than 25 pounds, and the pair costs about $300.

Strengths
  • — Wirecutter reports the boards barely budged in its tests, while a cheap portable set shook and popped bags back into the air
  • — Wirecutter found the smooth finish does not catch bags, and a logo printed under the finish did not slow them down
  • — Fold-down legs and crossbeams under the deck keep the board from bending or bouncing, per Wirecutter
Watch-outs
  • — Wirecutter calls the boards difficult to store and travel with: 4 by 2 feet and more than 25 pounds each
  • — About $300 for the pair, which Wirecutter flags as expensive for a lawn game

A regulation-size board built from composite decking material that one owner, the Chapstick4 channel, reviewed on video in 2018 and again in 2019 after leaving the set outdoors for a year. He found little bounce and a consistent slide, and a year of rain and snow left only slight wear to the print at the corners. Both videos are several years old, the top is held on with visible screws he disliked at first, and the store currently marks its all-weather boards as on backorder.

Strengths
  • — In a 2019 follow-up video, Chapstick4 reported the boards still played like new after more than a year left outside in rain, snow and sleet
  • — Chapstick4's 2018 video found no major bounce, not much more than on the wooden pro boards he had owned for about ten years
  • — Slides well, sticks well and plays very consistently, per Chapstick4's 2018 video
Watch-outs
  • — The top is fixed with recessed screws on the playing surface, including one in the middle, which Chapstick4 disliked at first
  • — After a year outdoors the printed pattern was wearing off a little at the corners, per Chapstick4's 2019 video

Wirecutter's cheaper alternative, the GoSports 4x2 Solid Wood Premium set, has one crossbeam to this board's two and costs less than half as much with bags and a carrying case included. The $399.00 Slick Woody's All Weather boards are the weather resistant alternative to this wooden board.

Slick Woody's All Weather Cornhole Boards

The only entry on this page built to stay outdoors: the AllCornhole and GoSports boards are all wood. At $399.00 with bags it costs more than the AllCornhole ACL Comp boards ($299.99). The GoSports 4x2 Solid Wood Premium set also includes bags at $139.99, but Reviewed found wet bags left water marks on its lacquered wood.
